When a person attempts to experience a new reality that they do not see regularly modeled in their immediate environment, they are pushing against an existing momentum and swimming against a strong current.

So the litmus test is simply: did the pattern survive?

Yet occult symbolism repeatedly places the Moon among the tools of power wielded by masters and initiates, because they recognize continuity as leverage. Just as one current can carry a person toward an undesirable inherited fate, another can carry them toward a more desirable reality.
The initiate first identifies their inherited momentum and the nature of the field whose continuity they are serving. Then they put down the oar, find the desired current, and let it carry them toward the Moon of their desire, not their destiny.
