the inherent.

  1. All cycles begin with its living beings following only the instructions given to them. They obey their internal code because they know nothing else.
  2. Nature itself is an expression of the inherent. To call something natural is to say it has been left to follow its internal coding, without an imposed design directing its expression.
  3. Survival tested whether consciousness could recognize and submit to the inherent laws of the field itself.
  4. The inherent stage leaves little room for abstraction. Here, the consequences of failing to recognize and yield to the laws of the field are immediate. Nature is unforgiving and her laws are indifferent to our survival.
  5. Here, the unconscious rules. Instinct and the forces beneath conscious awareness exert a greater influence than deliberate thought. Adapt or perish.
  6. This primordial force of nature is often represented in occult symbolism through feminine imagery such as the Moon, the Mother, and the Queen. These symbols converge in Cancer, the final sign of this stage.
  7. Other examples of symbols that represent this force are bees and the beehive, eggs and other circular or oval forms, rounded mounds and hills (not mountains), valleys, freshwater bodies, freshwater animals, mountable land animals such as horses, domesticated herd animals, goddesses.
  8. Female deities are personifications of the primordial forces of nature. They embody its power to create, sustain, and destroy.
  9. Perhaps this is why goddess worship thrives in the earliest stages of the cycle, where consciousness remains deeply connected to the primordial forces of nature.
  10. The ancient motif of the Mother and Divine Son emerges from this intimate relationship between consciousness and the forces that sustain existence.
  11. The signs express the four elements through their inherent nature: aries as primordial fire, taurus as primordial earth, gemini as primordial air, and cancer as primordial water.
  12. Aries is primordial fire. It brings the inert into instant action, and the dark into instant revelation.
  13. Taurus is primordial earth. It creates friction, which regulates the speed and direction of movement, and grounds energy so it does not burn out too quickly.
  14. Gemini is primordial air. It disturbs what is ungrounded, cuts through excess, and refines by reorganizing what remains.
  15. Cancer is primordial water. It nourishes and sustains life, yet its absence or excess can destroy it. It is the force we depend upon, but cannot fully control.
